Choosing a therapist is about getting the “right fit”

It’s only human to feel depressed, anxious, or overwhelmed at times in our lives. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do something about it. Before it becomes unmanageable why not consider the possibility of treatment? My years of experience have helped people combat depression and anxiety, overcome drug or alcohol abuse, increase feelings of self-empowerment, feel more fulfilled in their careers, and obtain the self-knowledge that leads to healthier, stronger, and more satisfying relationships.

I provide individual, couple and group therapy treatment for adults of all gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and faith.

Choosing the right therapist may seem like an overwhelming task. So why not browse my website and then call or email me to discuss your situation? My hope is you’ll decide that I am the right person to help you with your concerns.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse

I work closely with both the person currently using/abusing drugs and alcohol, and the people whom are impacted by their loved one’s use. One size doesn’t fit all. Are you looking to abstain from all drugs and alcohol? Great. I can assist you with that. Are you looking to cut back your current use of alcohol, to eliminate the problems it’s creating in your life?  Excellent. I can also help you figure that out.

I offer a self-empowering, comprehensive, and individualized approach, utilizing Integrative Harm Reduction and Motivational Enhancement Therapies.

Depression & Anxiety

Most people feel anxious or depressed at times. Going through a loss, changing jobs, divorce, or other difficult situations can lead a person to feel sad, lonely, scared, or nervous. These are normal reactions to life’s many stressors. However, you may feel you experience these feelings more often, even daily, and for no apparent reason. You may find that these feelings are making it more difficult to function in your daily life. If so, it may be time to seek a professional to explore your options for potential treatment. Both of these disorders are highly treatable, either alone or together.

My approach to treatment is specifically tailored to each of my clients, however, my treatment ‘lens’ is through a focused, integrated approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness Based Psychotherapies.

LGBTQ Issues

Psychotherapy is an invaluable tool for LGBTQ-identified people. Affirmative therapy can help you improve your relationship with others and with yourself. My approach is extremely sensitive to the social stigma, and homo/bi/trans-phobia, that permeate our society and often complicate the life of those who so identify.

My practice has helped people with the coming-out process, medical and sexual health and behavior, and overall increasing of self-worth from the shame, judgment, and stigma that can sometimes plague the community.
